ARVILLA PAYNE-JACKSON is Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropolgy at Howard University. She is an expert on African American herbal medicine.

I would recommend this book- it's very useful.

Very informative book. If you want to know about herbs, and what causes sicknesses, and how to get well, then you will like this book. The author is getting her information from John Lee (that's who she is interviewing in the book). He is a known healer and medicine maker. He has made speeches at the Smithsonian Institute as well.
