Excellent text for those wishing to focus on the electrical protection of machines

I work in the protective relaying field, and much of my work centers around machines and protection of machines. I occasionally teach professional development courses related to the protection of generators and motors and I always recommend this book to my course participants as an excellent reference that focuses strictly on machine protection. The book covers all aspects of electrical protection of synchronous machines, and has a chapter on protection of induction motors. I find that it has a good mix of theory and practice, and lists many good references for further study. I use it as a reference for my job and to brush up theory and application that I may not have put to practice in a while. Highly recommended.

The book is good. It covers lot of materials on protection of power generation plants. However it lacks the details in many subjects and how to apply the theory.

A friend in the entertainment business gave me Legal Aspects of the Music Industry as an early Christmas present when I told him I was thinking of handling my cousin's band. There are other books on the "music industry" but this one gives you a step by step run down of how to avoid being ripped off and how to get things done right...from the start. Schulenberg knows his stuff particularly contracts and rights. Even if you are contemplating a career in the music business, get this book, it's worth every penny!

Loved it!!

Loved. This. Book. I always love a good murder mystery, and this is definitely that, but when you add in some steam it makes it so much better. I literally had to keep reading this book to find out who the bad guy was and along the way I thoroughly enjoyed the romance between Mika and Jackson. They made quite a couple! Such a great read here you really shouldn't miss it! I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an Advanced Reader Copy.

Protected and Punished, by Shelly Douglas has taken DD to a new level. Mystery, a serial killer, and lots of steamy sex, what an awesome combo. I loved Mika and Jackson, the mature divorced woman dating a young dedicated detective, The characters are well developed and the story-line flows well.
I could not put the book down as I needed to know who the serial killer was. I loved this book from the beginning to the end. A must read!

This book started off interestingly enough, but it lost me towards the end. It truly did become a push for Christianity, urging the reader to find Christ through Christianity before it's too late. I have no problem with Christianity, but genuine New Age material generally does not push organized religion or encourage one to follow a deity- OR induce fear what-so-ever. I have no doubt the Acrturians exist, and even agree that they are helping mankind on many levels. However, the Arcturians in this material urge the reader to give their power away to a Christ and a God way up there in the sky, when really what we should all be doing is looking for the god within ourselves.
There is quite a bit of doom and gloom in this material and I gained little new knowledge from it. The Arcturians in this book urge the truth seeker to raise their vibration and start working towards a 5th dimensional existence (or else be left behind in 3rd dimension) yet they offer no tools to get there- other than meditate and stop eating red meat, white flour and sugar. I did not discern that this material was of the highest vibration. If you truly want your socks blown off, read the Kryon books. Kryon offers many tools for advancement and the love just bursts off of the pages. You will find truth and enlightenment on every page, and not a single guilt or fear induced message exists in the Kryon materials. Kryon empowers the truth seeker and the gifts will come rolling in. Start with Book One- you won't regret it. Peace and Love.

I love the grunge bands, especially Alice in Chains, and bought this with birthday money for Amazon. From the first words I was engrossed. The author constructs an impressively complex portrait of a fairly enigmatic band. From the beginning you know where the story is going (if you're familiar with Alice) and as it progresses it becomes more and more heartbreaking as the details surrounding Layne and Mike Starr's addiction unfolds. I would highly recommend this book not just for fans of the band, but for those seeking to understand addiction in general.

If there's some minor quibbles, it's these 2 points. One is I would've liked to have learned more about Jerry Cantrell, who undoubtedly was an important creative force behind the music. Granted, this is an unauthorized account, and Cantrell didn't offer his blessing with access. There is some information about him, but nothing compared to the attention given to Layne. Another source of irritation was how sometimes the author didn't clarify who some of the minor players associated with the band were. Lots of people are referenced with few sticking details provided to distinguish them throughout the book. But these are minor gripes.

I loved this book. Get it if you're even the least bit interested in AIC. The journey is as difficult and uncomfortable as some of their best music.A fitting tribute to a legendary band.

I've been listening to AIC since I picked up a copy of Facelift on cassette way back in the early 90's. I was hooked immediately and have been ever since. Unfortunately, because of this I witnessed the rise and fall of this epic band. The really weird part is that through the years nothing has really ever been openly documented in one well compiled, deeply detailed, and verified account of what really happened behind the scenes. This book did just that and did it well. I feel like I actually have a much clearer picture of what could be called the rise and fall of the first iteration of this band. The dismissal of Mike Starr, the integration of Mike Inez, Layne's drug use and how it affected the band in so many ways. This book also proved to be one of the most depressing books I've ever read regarding the tragic loss of such great talent to an out of control drug addiction. The death of Andrew Wood, the loss of Demri Parrott, Layne's spiral into the abyss, and finally Mike Starr's tragic end. Even if you aren't an Alice in Chains fan, this book really does give you a great insight into the Seattle music scene during the late 80's and early 90's. Well worth the read.

Great Book for Alice Fans

This is a great book for any fan of Alice In Chains looking to understand more about the band. The primary focus of the book is on the late frontman Layne Staley. The book describes the good and bad times Layne and the rest of the members went through, even before the formation of the band. As a huge Layne Staley and Alice In Chains fan, I was suprised at how much I didn't know prior to reading this. The material in this book is well researched and backed by interviews with people close to the band. The book is awesome and captivating to say the least.

Andreas Schmidt-Rhaesa studied biology at the universities in Giessen and Gottingen, Germany, where he received his PhD in 1996, working on the ultrastructure and phylogeny of horsehair worms (Nematomorpha). As postdoc, he worked in Jim Garey's lab at the Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and at the University of South Florida in Tampa, USA on molecular systematics of nematomorphs. Between 1998 and 2004 he was scientific assistant in the working group of Thomas Bartolomaeus at the University of Bielefeld, where he then did a postdoc between 2004 and 2007. Since April 2007 he has been Curator for Lower Invertebrates at the Zoological Museum of the University of Hamburg. His research interests include animal morphology and systematics, with particular interest in the taxa Nematomorpha, Gastrotricha and Priapulida.

Steffen Harzsch obtained his PhD from the University of Bielefeld, Germany in 1995 working on neurogenesis in crustacean larvae at the Department of Neurobiology and in the lab of Klaus Anger at the Marine Biological Station on the island of Helgoland in the North Sea. After a postodc at Wellesley College, Massachusetts, and a Heisenberg Fellowship of the German Research Foundation, he worked from 2007 to 2008 as a group leader for neuroanatomy in the Department of Evolutionary Neuroethology at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology in Jena, Germany. In 2009, he received tenure as a full Professor of Cytology and Evolutionary Biology at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald, Germany. His expertise is in studies on neurophylogeny and NeuroEvoDevo of arthropods and Chaetognatha.

Gunter Purschke, Professor at the University of Osnabrueck, Germany, is working on morphology, systematics, phylogeny and evolution of Annelida and related taxa. His research interests currently focus on evolution and diversity of photoreceptor cells and eyes, of the central nervous system and body wall musculature. He studied biology and chemistry at the University of Gottingen, and earned his PhD in Zoology in 1984. He was subsequently assistant at the University of Osnabrueck to the chair of Systematic Zoology (Prof. W. Westheide). After having received the venia legendi for Zoology (1997) he was appointed as extraordinary professor in 2002. Since 2004 he has been working with the chair of Zoology and Developmental Biology (Professor A. Paululat).

Excellent book for people exploring the field

Excellent book for people exploring the field. It gives a complete overview that lets you understand the product strengths and shortcommings. Like the previous reader said it feels like you are given agreat demo of the product.
This book is great when you are analizing the product but it is not if you want to use it. It dosent help you to setup or configure the product.
Towards the end the pictures lack some explanations. I think the book is not finished, but it is great for its purpose

What a great book! Very easy read and provides a not only a great overview of the key features in Dynamics AX but also the key integration points with the Microsoft Suite of products. You feel like you are getting a personal demo of Dynamics AX and at the end of the demo you are telling yourself I want to learn more. If you are in the market for a new ERP, you can easily read this book in one sitting and it will get you excited about what Dynamics AX can do for your company. Great job Murray!!
